Water Services

Working with a number of water companies across the UK and Ireland E McMullan has extensive experience across a wide range of water management services.

Water Management Services

Water Bill Analysis

Water Bill Analysis

If you feel you are paying too much for your water or you have noticed an increase in the amount you are being charged, we will undertake a study of your water bill. Through this analysis we will identify if you are using too much water, if your system is leaking water, and if the appropriate charges are being applied to your water bill. We will also identify how to make savings and monitor your consumption in real-time.

Pressure Management

Pressure Management

With over 17 years' experience, E McMullan Ltd is an industry leader in the design & implementation of Pressure Management (PM) schemes within Northern Ireland. We continually monitor the latest PM developments and practices within the industry to ensure we are up to speed with industry best practice and innovations. We have a strong understanding of the benefits of PM as one of the most cost effective methods of reducing leakage and burst frequency and establishing a calmer pressure profile which can assist with the reduction in outbreaks of re-active leakage.

Network Schematics

Network Schematics

We have produced high level schematics for water companies as well as large commercial and public sites. In an emergency, time can be saved if you have accurate drawings of your supply network. Showing all infrastructure details, these schematics can be used to assist with leakage activities such as testing and leak detection. All our drawings can be supplied in paper or digital format.

Trunk Main Losses

Trunk Main Losses

We have assisted our clients with the ongoing development of a company specific study/methodology for estimating Trunk Main Losses using integrated flow balance audits. With the use of the flow balance audits it is possible to identify which audits should be targeted for leakage investigations.  Part of the identification process is the calculation and application of any uncertainties based around metering and consumption anomalies.

Leakage Management Services

Leakage Management Services

One of the services we provide is undertaking a study of High Volume Leakage DMAs which are a major contributor to company water loss figures, in some cases 50% of losses can be within less than 20% of the DMAs.  Normal ALC does not resolve the issue within these DMAs mainly due to the inability to achieve the target reduction despite numerous interventions and the quick re-occurrence of leakage outbreaks.  We have developed a strategy involving specialist intervention following a number of policies and procedures we have developed over the last number of years.

Leak Detection

Leak Detection

We have teams of fully trained leak detection engineers who are equipped with all the latest equipment and technology to carry out leak detection services on both public and private systems.  We have developed a robust procedure for carrying out step tests. Our specialist staff interrogate all relevant information e.g. flow data, connectivity, consumption, pressure, etc.  This is followed up with the design and execution of the step test using pre-designed schematics, individual step 'zero pressure testing' and operating with live flow data.
